When did Moonbelly Bakery open? August of 2022

What's the story behind Moonbelly Bakery? Land Park native Lucia Plumb-Reyes spent five years finding the perfect spot for her bakery, the site of a chicken hatchery in the 20's and 30's. She started baking in college and never stopped. With no design budget, she had friends willing to pitch in to help create a highly personalized and vibrant space. The space is also connected to the community; a local business sells flowers in front and the community bulletin board promotes small businesses like Honeyed, a cake business run by an employee. But be forewarned! In its short one year in business, Moonbelly has attracted a huge following. By 9:00 a.m., there's already a line out the door spilling onto the sidewalk. They often sell out of popular items so make sure to get there early! You can read more about the bakery in this CapRadio article.

How did Moonbelly Bakery get its name? "Moonbelly" was the name suggested by the owner's husband for the bakery. It's a term of endearment used by the couple.
